19 October 2017 - Cartels, Damages, Trucks

The first 18 italian companies taking action against the truck cartel

The action for damages has its roots in the European Commission decision that established the existence of a cartel among DAF, Daimler/Mercedes-Benz, Iveco, MAN/Volkswagen, Volvo/Renault and Scania in the market for trucks weighting more than 6 tons from 1997 to 2011, fining it with the highest sanction ever imposed on a cartel for 3.8 billion euros. Lear is assisting Moby for alleged abuse of dominance in the market for maritime freight transport

The Italian Competition Authority (ICA) claims that Moby/CIN is abusing its dominant position in the market for maritime freight transport to and from Sardinia, with the aim of foreclosing rivals. Read more
