Internships

Lear offers the opportunity to undertake six-month internships in its Rome offices to bright young economists who have just completed, or are in course of completing, their studies.

Applicants should preferably have a bachelor degree in Economics, though we do consider applicants with other qualifications. We require excellent writing and communication skills, strong analytical ability and intellectual curiosity. An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must, and knowledge of statistical-mathematical software (e.g. Stata, R) is highly desirable. Applicants must be fluent both in Italian and English, while knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Junior Consultant 

Lear is looking for a Junior Consultant to support its existing staff on the delivery of their current portfolio of work and to build on the continuing success and growth of their business. The permanent position is based in Rome, but may occasionally require to travel in Italy or abroad.

The key responsibilities of a Junior Consultant are:

  • work closely with the project manager to define the project objectives and strategy;
  • drafting of reports;
  • interact with clients, assist in presenting analyses and progress reporting to clients;
  • data management and analysis.

Candidates should have:

  • hold at least an MSc in Economics;
  • have at least one-year work experience either in economic consulting, or in a competition or regulatory agency;
  • be fluent in English. The knowledge of Italian or other languages is a plus;
  • have good communication skills, both orally and in writing;
  • be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities;
  • be an expert user of Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • be familiar with either Stata or R;
  • be prone to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Salary will depend on experience

Data Analyst

  • data collection, cleaning, analysis and visualization;
  • support in the definition of the empirical strategy;
  • drafting of reports;
  • assist in presenting analyses and progress reporting to clients.

Candidates should:

  • hold an MSc in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics;
  • have proven analytical skills;
  • have at least one-year work experience as a data analyst;
  • have practical experience in statistical analysis with either Stata or R;
  • be an expert user of Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • be fluent in English. The knowledge of Italian or other languages is a plus;
  • have good communication skills, both orally and in writing;
  • be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities;
  • be prone to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Salary will depend on experience.
