Mattia Marconi

Research Assistant

Mattia Marconi is a Research Assistant at Lear, where he joined in March 2026.

He holds an MSc in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Bologna, with a thesis examining the spatial heterogeneity of housing prices in France.

Prior to joining Lear, Mattia worked as a scientific trainee for the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, where he contributed to research on the influence of place-varying supply and demand dynamics on EU housing markets. His experience also includes a Research Assistantship at the University of Bologna, supporting the work of Professors Alessandro Sforza and Nicola Fontana in the field of political economy.

He earned his BSc in Economics and Social Sciences at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, which included a semester as an exchange student at the University of Münster in Germany.

His main interests are in policy evaluation and applied econometrics. He also enjoys coding for data collection and processing.

He is fluent in Italian, English, German and has a good command of French.
