Edoardo Longo

Research Assistant

Edoardo Longo is a Research Assistant at Lear, where he joined in September 2026.

He holds an MSc in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, with a focus on microeconomics and industrial organization. His thesis, conducted under the supervision of professor Pedro Pita Barros, examined the role of labour market effects in merger control.

During his time in Portugal, Edoardo co-authored two policy research papers. One, with DGE (Directorate-General for Economics, Portuguese Ministry of Economy), analysed how Portuguese firms adjusted their investment in response to energy price shocks, using firm-level BPLIM data. The second, with GPEARI (Portuguese Ministry of Finance), assessed the impact of EU Cohesion Policy on regional economic performance.

He earned his B.Sc. in Economics and Finance at Sapienza Università di Roma, his main interests are in Competition Economics and Econometrics.
