Market study on the supply and repair of household appliance in Singapore

Lear has led a Consortium comprising Verian and Euromonitor, to carry out a market study on the supply and repair of household appliances, commissioned by the National Environmental Agency and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore. The market study allowed the Consortium to reconstruct the value chains for the supply and repair of large and small household appliances, to discover the relevant factors considered by consumers when choosing whether to repair or replace their appliances, and to identify the key inputs required for repair.
Moreover, the Consortium has also assessed whether market players in Singapore implemented some practices which would lead to competition, consumer protection and sustainability issues in relation to large household appliances.

The study relied on evidence gathered through a consumer survey and numerous interviews with relevant stakeholders from the supply and repair value chains for household appliances.
