Exploring aspects of the state of competition in the EU for DG COMP

Lear is the leader of a consortium comprising E.CA Economics, Fideres, Kantar Public, Prometeia and University of East Anglia, which was appointed by the European Commission to carry out a study exploring certain aspects of the state of competition in the European Union. Specifically, the study will provide evidence on the relationship between competition and market outcomes, from both a micro- and macro-economic perspective; will seek to shed light on the causes behind the emergence of so-called ‘superstar’ firms; and will explore the relationship between competition in domestic markets and competitiveness in export markets.
