Palazzo Altieri is a well-known palace in Rome and was once the home of the Altieri family in the city.
The Altieri were one of the prominent families in Rome claiming descendancy from Roman nobility. Pope Clement X (reigned 1670-1676) belonged to the family.
Its construction began in 1650. The Palace is one of the many hidden jewels of Baroque Rome both thanks to its size and to its wide and richely decorated rooms. Today, the Palace is the seat of Associazione Bancaria Italiana and the seat of representation of Banca Popolare di Novara.
