The 3rd Global Procurement Conference is the annual international conference organized by the University of Rome Tor Vergata on July 2 and 3, 2018. The event was the occasion where practitioners and academics meet to share opinion and discuss on the latest cutting-edge topics in the field of public procurement, such as contract amendments, innovation, e-procurement and centralization. The Italian Competition Authority (ICA) has started an investigation into Kedrion and Grifols, two providers of therapeutic products derived from human blood plasma, for their joint participation in a tender launched by the Italian Healthcare System (SSN). The ICA is concerned that the joint bid has unduly restricted competition for the award of the tender. Read more
The fourth edition of the Trento Summer School on Advanced EU Competition Law & Economics will take place in Moena (Italian Dolomites) from 17th to 24th June 2018.
This event is organized by the Osservatorio Permanente sull’Applicazione delle Regole di Concorrenza and provides the opportunity to deepen the relationship between competition law and economics by anlayzing competition rules from both a theoretical and empirical perspective. Read more
The Italian Competition Authority (ICA) is investigating into the top three cab dispatching companies operating in Rome – including Lear’s client Radiotaxi 3570 – for the alleged foreclosure effects of the non-compete clause which prevents taxi drivers associated with one of the three cab dispatching companies from accepting calls for service from competitors. Banca d’Italia and Consiglio di Stato organized a conference on “Administrative Justice and demands of the economic system”, which took place at Koch Palace in Rome on 6th June. Paolo Buccirossi has taken part to a roundtable discussing the role of economic analysis within administrative proceedings. Read more
The subject of this FWC is to conduct evaluation and impact assessment studies regarding one or more State aid policy instruments (legislation, guidelines, notice etc.) from an inter-disciplinary perspective and in accordance with the Commission’s binding evaluation and impact assessment standards. On 9th of May 2018, Lear organized this Workshop in Belgrade in collaboration with the Serbian Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.
The Workshop was the occasion to present the Strategic Vision and the Recommendations for an enhanced public procurement system in Serbia. Read more
Paolo Buccirossi and Salvatore Nava have contributed to the volume “Concorrenza, mercato e diritto dei consumatori”. The volume aims at providing a comprehensive view on competition law and consumer protection, also in light of the most recent case law. The volume also looks at the interaction between law and economics when it comes to competition matters. Read more
